July Round Up

Now I know that this post is massively delayed, and realistically should be shared at the beginning of the month. But so much has happened throughout August that I don't know whether I've been coming or going!

However, I made the effort to take these photos and put this post together, so I have given myself the go ahead and to share it anyway, four weeks late or not!

Back in June (which feels like forever ago) I thought about wanting to photograph more of what I do on a day to day basis. Not only to be able to look back on time that I've spent with friends and family but to also share with you guys how much I eat out (I regret nothing).

Starting with July I am going to focus on featuring a post like this every month giving you an update on what exactly I got up to the month before.

From daily outfit looks to pizza, pasta and naan breads the size of my friend's heads. I admit I've forgotten from time to time to actually do this, but here's hoping going forward I'll improve.

And who knows, in future months I may have photos not solely focussed on what I stuffed my face with!

Enjoy!

At the beginning of July a took a trip down to see my sister but to also attend a very exciting job interview! My sister, Lisa and friend Philippa celebrated with a doughnut, I did not as I was being 'good', in hind sight I might as well have!

The health kick did not end at saying no to doughnuts either! I took it upon myself to take advantage of where I used to live and went for a wonder along the canals. Mainly to try and get my steps up.

For those of you fellow Mancs who haven't been to Mackie Mayor before, what are you waiting for?! They have the most amazing food vendors and a great variety to choose from! This wasn't my first visit but it maybe my last for a while.

I highly recommend the pizza!

FYI I currently live in these culottes. :)

For those of you who know me, you will know I love pies and cannot help myself when scouting out the nearest pie restaurants.

I used to work in a pub in Marple Bridge who stock Pieminister pies and they are absolutely bloody lovely! I managed to visit their own restaurant in Manchester in July and wasted not one mouthful of my Mothership order. A must visit for all pie lovers.

Live and eat pie.

Last month I had my first visit to the Light Cinema in Stockport. Myself, little brother and step mum had tickets to see The Incredibles 2. Accompanied by a free refill of popcorn and sofas so comfy it's just like being at home.

SPOILER ALERT - I got the job! But I'll tell you all about that in a specially dedicated post!

Further trips to London were an essential this month to go through a two day handover for my new position. Start date was, Monday 20 August!

Good vibes only!

I am the Carbonara Queen. At eating it, not making it, don't be silly.

I'm a sucker for a good quote and nothing is more accurate than this right now.

Frankie and Benny's have got their napkins down to a tee; I am that person who won't let you eat your food until I have taken a photo of it, I'm not even sorry.

In July I sadly had to say goodbye to these two lovelies as they moved to Berlin for amazing adventures! We couldn't say goodbye though without a meal accompanied by naan breads that were bigger than our heads. Cue the proud parent photo.

Lovely surprises for getting a new job off two of my favourite people! Just wish I'd saved the photo before the Insta Stories edits, oops.

More food...

And again. These tapas from Bed in Uppermill though were absolutely amazing. I know understand why I have put on about 7lbs in the space of a month...

And to conclude, sunshine, roof down drives with my favourite person.

Not a bad month at all, here's to August, the month of change.

Ibiza Rocks!

I'm not going to lie, when the girls first asked me if I wanted to go to Ibiza with them this year I said no, when they told me Bastille were playing I found myself £500 down and booking a week off work.

In the run up to this holiday I was forever telling people I'd only be going the once with no intention of coming back. But when our week came to an end I was very reluctant to get on the plane home.

T Shirt - Zara // Trousers - The Saddleworth Boutique // Trainers - Adidas

From planning all my evening outfits and hammering them out on Instagram (apologies) to making friends with the man at the kebab shop, I can honestly say I've had one of the best weeks of my life.

Co-ord Top and Skirt - Missguided // Trainers - As Before

And let's not forgot about the whole reason I booked this holiday in the first place, Bastille. As we stayed at the Ibiza Rocks Apartments ticketed events at the main hotel were included in our stay so we could just stroll up the road whenever we felt like it really.

I've seen Bastille around 5 times now and I still can't get enough. It was the perfect opportunity to see them preform in such a small environment which I think are the best gigs you can go to. They never disappoint and I'm so incredibly happy that wanting to see them led me to having an amazing holiday with the girls.

Kimono - H&M // Swimsuit - River Island // Flatforms - Office

We booked quite a lot of our events before we went, meaning we got to make the most of our time there! Our first day was spent at Ocean Beach which was amazing, but very expensive. If you are thinking about going I would highly suggest paying for a bed. It is a lot of money but you do get the majority of that back to spend on food and drinks. I would recommend taking even more though because the cheapest bottle of Vodka is 275 euros, so you're going to need some extra spending money!

Dress - Pretty Little Thing (similar here) // Top - New Look // Hot Pants - Missguided // Flatforms - As Before

As the week went on we also attended My House by Martin Solveig at Pacha, Craig David's TS5 Pool Party and Radio 1 in Ibiza at Hi Ibiza! I am sorry for the lack of photos from these events, I was simply having too much of a good time!

Dress - New Look

So what was meant to be a 'you've got to do it once holiday' I think it's safe to say I will be returning next year!

Summer means Swimwear!

We may only have a couple of weeks left for this British summertime but the sun is always shining somewhere and let's face it, it's more often somewhere other than the UK!

I don't know about you guys but I feel like there is so much good swimwear out this year so I thought I'd share my top 5 favourites with you!

First up!

Stripe Heaven from Asos

£22
I'm not the only blogger lovin' this swimsuit and its not hard to see why! With a plunging neckline and crossover back it's flattering and bound to have you looking amazing on the beach! There's something so simple about this style but I think that's why it looks so great.

Missguided does Marble

£20
This is one of two Missguided swimwear pieces to feature on this post. I'm literally obsessed with what they have on offer right now. Marble is one of my favourite prints and I'm clearly not the only one as this is currently only available in a size 14. There is one little thing I'm not mad keen and that's the briefs. I'm not so much of a fan of having this much bum out personally but I don't have anything against anyone who is confident enough to pull this off!

Hello H&M

Top // £8.99 - Bottoms // £8.99
I feel like this is the least 'dressy' set but that can always be a good thing. When you're on holiday you want to wear something comfortable but still looks good. I always feel like bikini's are always good for that desired sun tan. The lace up detail makes it that little bit more girly alongside the coral colours. Perfect for lying around the pool in or going on adventures in the sea, just make sure the big waves don't steal your bottoms!

Missguided Strikes Again

£28
First things first, these eyelets are amazing! Being strapless means no strap marks! This beauty comes in a range of colours so if you're wanting something a little bit brighter than black, then Missguided have you covered. I think this style is so flattering and perfect for anyone who isn't too keen on showing their tum.

Red Hot in River Island

£28
Now I have saved the best til last! This is my favourite of all the ones I've chosen, so much so that it came to Ibiza with me last week! This is the costume that I chose to wear to Ocean Beach so it's kind of a big deal! I love everything about this one especially the tie at the front! Not the best for tan lines but who cares when it looks so good!

The colour is something completely different for me too but I love it! For me it shouts out summer and is definitely going to stand out!

So there you go! I'm currently sat recovering from the best week in Ibiza and wondering where I want to jet off to next. Stay tuned for my Ibiza post where I'll be filling you in with everything I got up to!
